Green Peony Tea

greenpeonyteaWho knew? Green Peony is also a tea. Grown on what is known as “the loveliest mountain of China”, the Huangshan mountain in the southern Anhui Province, Green Peony tea leaves are hand-tied with silk thread into a flower shape, and pan-fried or air dried and delicately roasted. When steeped in near boiling water, the tea leaves dramatically unfurl into a water-borne peony like blossom. The tea has a light floral aroma and is smooth and sweet. Considered a display tea, we recommend you steep the rosettes in a glass vessel to enjoy the beautiful blossom.

Aside from the fact that this is a wonderful and equally beautiful tea, what we love the most is the dedication and craftsmanship of the experienced tea artisans. We are amazed at the amount of work that goes into making these delicate rosettes and other display teas. Have you tried it? Feel free to comment and share your experience by leaving a reply below.
